Many years ago at Pratt I heard some art students argue that "Art is Dead" and I was shocked at the notion of that thought. It just didn't seem possible because it was all around and active in New York City. Art can't die, it's too important to human culture and education. Well, that was in the 70's and now it's 2011 and Art may have died for me, but I hope it will make a come back soon. It's a long story that saddens me because I saw it all happen in slow motion year after year.
The question you would ask is: Was it me or the times? Did I do it to myself or did Art Die by itself in full view of the public that lost interest in supporting the arts? to be continued.........
